YES Press Release – Wendy Weeks Named as Executive Director

Bringing fresh ideas as organization approaches 45th year

COSTA MESA, CA (March 31, 2015) – Youth Employment Services (YES) has named Wendy Weeks as its new executive director. The Costa Mesa-based non-profit organization offers programs that help young adults improve their employability, career choices, self-esteem and quality of life.

According to John Hobson, president, YES Board of Directors, Weeks will bring fresh ideas to the 44 year-old organization as it enters an era of change and opportunity. “We are thrilled to have a professional like Wendy help lead us into our 45th year and beyond. Her passion for launching careers for Orange County youth and resourcefulness were immediately apparent. Also, her energy, results-orientation, managerial skills and proactive spirit are just what we need to assure our future as a top-tier non-profit organization,” Hobson said.

As executive director, Weeks will have overall strategic and operational responsibility for the YES staff, programs, expansion, and execution of our mission. She will initially be focused on developing awareness of YES within the business community while working to expand our services through partnerships with local schools and organizations.

Weeks’ expertise stems from her non-profit experience and accomplishments at Project Access, The Home Depot Foundation, State Farm’s Public/Community Affairs and Zonta, an international service organization of professionals empowering women worldwide through service and advocacy. In addition, her sales, marketing and management positions with Orange County One-Stop Center, Ann Taylor LOFT and PC Associates bring a wealth of knowledge that will benefit YES in the years to come.

Weeks has earned several distinctions for her outstanding work. She was nominated for the National Association of Women Business Owners’ “Remarkable Woman,” and nominated for the “Spirit of Volunteerism” award from the Volunteer Center of Orange County for her work with Project Access.
