It takes work… to help youth become self reliant!
On April 25, YES held the 40th Annual Roman Feast & Charity Auction at the Chuck Jones Event Center raising $84,000 to continue to help Orange County young adults.
At the sold-out event, we launched an exciting new initiative, It Takes Work, to address a critical issue for today’s youth, providing the tools students need to help prepare for future careers.
YES has deep ties to Orange County, an area that has changed dramatically since our organization was founded 44 years ago. And we continue to evolve to meet the changing needs of students and employers. The goal of It Takes Work is to develop a program that is bigger than YES and bigger than Orange County. We are exploring partnerships with successful business and community leaders, athletes and celebrities to share their stories of the effort it took to achieve success. With the community’s help, we hope to expand to serve more Orange County youth, provide additional programs and start more careers.
YES helped student Jennifer Aubrey, who shared her story at the Roman Feast, get her first job. Once estranged from both parents, Jennifer suffered from depression and homelessness. Today, she is an inspirational, articulate, confident team lead at Deutsche Bank and a student at Orange Coast College. “Without the help of YES,” she said, “I would not be where I am today. I can’t imagine my life without YES.”
How can you help? With your help, we can serve more Orange County youth, provide additional programs and launch more careers.
